About TMD

TMD is a division of the Department of Premier and Cabinet and consists of four Branches.

The Branches are:

• Business Development
• Telecommunications Supplier Management
• Service Delivery and
• Business Management and Support.

In consultation with customers and stakeholders TMD delivers the following services:

• telecommunications & computing services to Agencies including Human Resource and Financial Systems Management
• management of the Networking Tasmania Contract on behalf of the Tasmanian State Government
• advice to Government and Agencies on telecommunications and information technology issues
• management of appropriate technical standards
• Whole of Government infrastructure projects.

The Service Delivery Branch delivers TMD's services to customers and consists of the following busines units:

• TMD TASINET
• TMD Computing (Infrastructure & Applications Support)
• TMD HR Systems

Networking Tasmania contract management services are delivered by the Telecommunications Infrastructure Management Branch.

TMD is located in Hobart and has offices in Launceston and Ulverstone.
